House of Tai Ping Goes Digital
The heritage carpet brand’s new website means more designs, more projects and more possibilities for unique creations and collaborations
House of Tai Ping, the Hong Kong-born heritage carpet brand with a reputation for high craft and luxury, has launched a new website that brings its six decades of history into the future of design and collaboration.
The new platform includes a comprehensive, user-friendly library of the full range of Tai Ping and Edwards Fields products. With more than 2,000 unique designs catalogued, it allows designers to source rugs more efficiently and find reference points for bespoke commissions to suit their project specifications. The Collections category, meanwhile, showcases the results of 50 design collaborations — across disciplines ranging from interior design, furniture and lighting to art and fashion — with individual profile pages giving insights into the collaborating artisans’ practices and inspiration.
With the Design Search tool, users can explore the entire collection by brand, shape, colour or style, while the Sectors category offers a broad view of carpet applications in the residential, boutique retail, aviation, yacht and hospitality sectors, among others. Users can also create their own virtual ‘mood boards’ with limited-access folders for collating designs, references and other ideas from across the website in one place.
‘We believe that the newly launched website will be an invaluable resource for designers and architects to experience Tai Ping in an interactive way,’ said Shawn Hiltz, House of Tai Ping’s chief strategic officer. Much more than a retail portal, Tai Ping’s new digital platform is a showcase of the myriad possibilities that can be realised when heritage, expertise and creativity come together.
