Design Anthology has always been guided by a deep appreciation for books, publishing and the power of print — not only as a medium for storytelling, but as a way of fostering community. Tokyo, with its reverence for literature, craft and culture, has long been a place that inspires and informs our editorial perspective.
Until 22 May, Style Department will be home to the Design Anthology print archive, with issues from the past 10 years, alongside a range of books on design, art and architecture selected by Design Anthology’s editors.
Opening Evening
Friday, 9 May 2025
18:00–21:00
To celebrate the publication of our latest issue, we’re pleased to invite you to a special evening hosted by Design Anthology and Style Department in Tokyo’s Kamiyamacho neighbourhood. The occasion also marks the opening of our two-week Reading Room residency — a space to pause, read and reflect.
Come clink a glass, courtesy of Melbourne drinks producer Non, Okayama-based natural winemaker Domaine Tetta and Danish beer brand Mikkeller, pick up a complimentary copy of the new issue and spend time amongst good company and good books.
